Christmas is on its way to Yarraville with several events planned by the Yarraville Traders to ring in the festive season
Yarraville Traders president Shannon Snowdon said she hopes these events will encourage people to shop locally this Christmas season.
“We want people to get down and support local traders at this time while getting down and celebrating Christmas,” she said.
“There are some really lovely things to do, these are free events which I think are really important at this time of year.”
Santa and his helper will be roving through Yarraville Village on December 9 and 16.
Later in the day on December 16, Pitchface Choir will be singing live at the pop up park.
On Wednesday December 20, Kiss FM will be visiting the village to do a live broadcast and give away $5000 worth of presents.
Before on Saturday, December 23, the Grinch and Belle on Skates will visit the village to visit the participating traders who are keeping their shops open for late night shopping.
“We are really excited to get the live broadcast going as the giveaway is mostly aimed towards school kids,” Ms Snowdon said.
“The prizes will include lots of bats, balls, tickets, chocolate, spin to win, which is all great for Christmas because people are struggling and these can be some good stocking stuffers.”
