Williamstown’s Commonwealth Reserve will be awash with pink for an event promoting breast cancer awareness.
People can bring a blanket and have a picnic for next month’s Pink Day on the Park.
Organiser Lidia Neskovski said the day was aimed at increasing awareness of the disease, support those affected by breast cancer and honour those who fought the battle.
“My auntie died of breast cancer and I’ve also got a friend who’s a cancer survivor.
“Last year, I had three friends die of breast cancer, one after the other – 50, 48 and 40 – died within three months.”
The event kicks off with a yoga session and there will be speakers and information stalls and live entertainment. Pink Day on the Park is on Sunday, March 3 from 10am-5pm.
