Maribyrnong community grant applications and an information session are now open.

The community grants program aims to empower local groups and organisations to make a positive difference in their neighbourhoods.

The program offers financial support to projects that address key community needs and aspirations, helping create a vibrant and inclusive community for residents.

There are three categories of funding catering to projects of varying scales: small grants of up to $1000, medium grants of up to $15,000, and for larger-scale initiatives, the program offers grants of up to $25,000.

Maribyrnong mayor Cuc Lam said the program aims to foster community engagement and collaboration.

“We believe that by providing funding opportunities, we can enable local groups and organisations to implement projects that will have a lasting positive impact in our city,” she said.

The council will do an evaluation process and announce the recipients in December.

Grant writing workshops will be held on Thursday, July 25, from 10.15am-12.45pm at West Footscray Library, and Wednesday, July 31, from 6pm-8pm online.

Community members who want to join the workshops need to register online.

Maribyrnong community grant application submission is closed on Thursday, August 22, at 4pm.
