Community grants open

Applications for Maribyrnong Council’s community grants program are now open.

There are three categories of funding catering to projects of varying scales: small grants of up to $1,000, medium grants of up to $15,000, and larger-scale grants of up to $25,000.

Maribyrnong mayor Cuc Lam said the program aims to foster community engagement and collaboration.

“It is a testament to our commitment to empowering our residents and fostering a strong sense of community,” she said.

“We believe that by providing funding opportunities, we can enable local groups and organisations to implement projects that will have a lasting positive impact in our City.”

Following an evaluation process, the council will announce the recipients in December.

Applications will be assessed based on their alignment with the program’s objectives, feasibility, and potential impact on the community.

Council invites groups and organisations to review the community grants program guidelines and liaise with the council’s community grants officer regarding their proposed project.

Council will host grant writing workshops and information sessions on Thursday, July 25, from 10.15am to 12.45pm at West Footscray library and online on Wednesday, July 31, from 6pm to 8pm.

Applications close Thursday, August 22 at 4pm.
