Hot House Community projects, Network West and the West Gate Neighbourhood Fund are hosting the 2023 Community Leadership Summit.
The summit is a celebration of community members who have succeeded in their journey to becoming leaders in their community.
Hot House have been working with community leaders across Hobsons Bay and Maribyrnong as part of the West Gate Tunnel funding working to develop active citizenship and community voice in the west.
The members work together developing projects, step into leadership roles, run active roles on committees and more.
Director of Hot House Community Projects Helen Rodd, said the event supports community leaders by giving them a voice to share their stories.
“The summit is to showcase that the ‘Maribyrnong and Hobsons Bay lead the way’ project gets results.”
“…It shows politicians and governing bodies that they should listen to community members who have lived in experience and know what works for the community,” she said.
Ms Rodd said six community members will be doing lightning talks presenting to the audience what they have achieved.
“The work they have done is what we want to promote, we have had 11 graduates from Maribyrnong and another 11 from Hobsons Bay,” she said.
