Creating the next generation’s cricket super stars

Aspiring young Altona cricketers can now pick up a bat and ball and join the fully funded junior program.

Altona Sports Cricket Club junior president Dean Bryden said former Melbourne Renegades player Trent Lawford will oversee the development of the junior program.

“The Altona Sports Club is fully committed to help develop sport in the local area with both junior cricket and lawn bowls,” he said.

“We’re trying to get as many kids playing sport as we can.”

Junior sponsors Zing Solar TBTC Melbourne South and MCP Financial Services are supporting the junior program, with each player receiving a FeroX Cricket playing kit and Sherwood Australia attire thanks to their support.

Training is now underway for mixed teams of boys and girls aged between eight and 11 years of age.
