L2R Dance is hosting a Pop-Up Jam on Saturday, May 27, from 2pm-4pm at Byron Plaza in Footscray.
The free, family event called ‘Love Your West Pop-Up Jam’ will showcase some of Melbourne’s most respected and dynamic dance artists.
Families and friends are encouraged to get down if they can for a few hours of carefree dancing to some live tunes.
Footscray locals, young and old are invited to the cypher ( dance circle) , designed to get everyone involved and moving.
Embodying the generosity of street dance culture, L2R has invited local dance crews to participate on the day.
Lighthouse Studios , Afro Movement Academy and Rising Queens will perform alongside DJ Antagonize.
L2R Dance is a not-for-profit organisation based in Melbourne’s West dedicated to providing free dance programs for children and young people.
The organisation also provides arts leadership opportunities and employment pathways for children and young people traditionally underrepresented or absent from mainstream arts and culture.
The philosophy put forward by L2R Dance encourages belonging, well being and cultural leadership through nurturing creativity.
L2R creates safe spaces for children and young people to be active, happy, and free, transforming them through the power of dance.
