The 11th annual Big Freeze fundraiser to help find a cure for motor neurone disease (MND) was launched at Flinders Street Station on Tuesday.
Australian of the Year, MND sufferer and FightMND co-founder Neale Daniher was present for the launch of the fundraiser he helped established in 2014, soon after he was diagnosed with the condition.
For Big Freeze 11, FightMND is daring Australians to live it forward and seize the moment to craft a better future for those still in the MND fight and in memory of those who can no longer fight.
As Daniher himself has written, it’s a situation he now finds himself in.
“I understand the wisdom of this, but right now I don’t have much forward left,” he said.
Daniher was joined at the launch by players from Collingwood and Melbourne football clubs whose annual King’s Birthday clash at the MCG is the highlight of the Big Freeze campaign.
