Dates with destiny in Williamstown

Two hundred acting extras are being sought for a blind date scene to be filmed in Williamstown this month, with singles also able to mingle if desired.

Blind Date with a Cow is a musical comedy with a Sex and the City/Friends feel, with some scenes being filmed at Customs House Hotel in Nelson Place.

Scriptwriter, Altona’s Ed Correa said filming would be combined with an optional singles mingles night. The date scene will be filmed over May 8 and 9.

“It’s usually quiet on these nights but in the film it will look like there are hundreds of people dining out and walking around,” Correa said. “The first night is where we need a couple of hundred people. The second night we’re only going to need about 50.

“This is a fun night. Most of the people, most of the time, will be inside socialising.”

Correa said there would be a sticker system for extras interested in mingling with others, with green, yellow and red bands denoting romantic, social or no interest, respectively.

Extras will get free finger food on the night and a VIP invite to the launch party.

To register, visit the Blind Date with a Cow Facebook page or call 0416 004393.
