Discover Hobsons Bay’s hidden gems

People can discover one of Hobsons Bay’s hidden gems on a guided walk which takes in eight monolithic sculptures along Kororoit Creek at Altona North.

The walk along Toyota Way, part of the Kororoit Creek Trail, is an initiative of Hobsons Bay mayor Angela Altair.

It features giant sculptures funded by Toyota and created by renowned Brooklyn artist Geoffrey Ricardo, titled

Spirits of Time and Place. Ricardo will be answering questions on the day.

The walk also showcases the work of Friends of Lower Kororoit Creek, which has created an urban forest by planting 50,000 trees and shrubs since its inception in 2001.

The walk is on Saturday, April 14 from 10am to noon, meeting in the Blackshaws Road car park at Hosken Reserve, Altona North. Register at artsevents@hobsonsbay.vic.gov.au
