Expect plenty of colour and excitement in the air when Footscray lights up to mark the triumph of light over darkness.
One of the most popular Hindu festivals, Diwali celebrations are held each spring to signify the victory of good over evil and hope over despair.
Footscray Diwali will light up Footscray Park from 4pm Sunday, October 22, showcasing dance and live music.
There will be plenty of food and other fare along with face-painting, henna painting, rides and games for children.
The event will round out with a fireworks display.
