Bulldogs legend Doug Hawkins put in a sizzling performance for the recent ‘Man vs. Food’ Sons of the West cooking masterclass at Newport Community Hub.
The Western Bulldogs Community Foundation and Woolworths co-hosted a session in which participants created quick and healthy meals in replace of those with low nutritional value.
Hawkins has been a strong supporter of Sons of the West men’s health program since it began in 2014.
“Men’s health is so important,” he said.
“It’s critical blokes eat correctly and look after themselves because life is very, very short.”
Program participants have been encouraged by dieticians to take control of their health and wellbeing through understanding the nutritional value of different items.
Focus is placed upon food preparation skills, food safety and healthy meal choices.
