Draft council plan open for feedback

Hobsons Bay’s draft council plan has been released for community feedback.

Designed to provide a roadmap for council for the next four years, the draft plan is centred around four themes: healthy community; sustainable environment; liveable city and accountable council.

Also released for public exhibition is council’s four-year draft health, wellbeing and safety plan and 10-year updates to its draft financial and draft asset management plans.

The draft council plan also includes an update of council’s long-term community vision, which is the broad, overarching goal for what Hobsons Bay will look like in 2040.

While all four documents are now open for community consultation, Hobsons Bay mayor Daria Kellander thanked those who provided feedback during the development of each draft plan.

“It’s been incredible to see the community buy-in to help us get to this point,” Cr Kellander said, adding that an especially large number of local residents commented on the the draft council plan.

“The draft plan is based on the feedback of more than 1,300 people, including hundreds of council staff, who are out and about in our community every day.

“Together, they have helped us draft a plan that will see us work hard over the next four years to create a happier, healthier, safer and more connected Hobsons Bay.”

The draft plans will be on public exhibition until noon, Wednesday 26 November.

After a review community feedback, the plans will be then presented for adoption at a council meeting in December.
