Driver killed in three-car crash in Maribyrnong

A man has died following a head-on car crash in Maribyrnong on Saturday night.

Police at the scene of the fatal collision believe a car travelling east on Raleigh Road crashed head-on into another car at the intersection of Clyde Road just after 8pm.

The second car then crashed into a third car.

The male driver in the first vehicle, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

The male driver of the second vehicle was taken to hospital with injuries, while the driver of the third vehicle was uninjured.

Police are continuing to investigate the exact circumstances of the collision.

The death takes the state’s 2015 road toll to 150, down from 152 at the same stage last year.
