A Footscray woman has been charged with drug and weapon offences following a series of raids at 10 properties across Melbourne.
Almost 100 police, including members of the tactical unit and special operations group, were involved in the early morning raids as part of Operation Bonito.
The warrants were executed following a 10-month investigation into the alleged trading of illegal firearms and trafficking of commercial quantities of methyl amphetamine.
The raided properties included a home in Beevers Street in Footscray, along with other homes spread mostly across Melbourne’s south-east.
Sergeant Cameron Scott said police seized about 500 grams of methyl amphetamine, two litres of GHB, over 100 prescription pills, a revolver, shotgun, rifle and a fully automatic pistol.
Other items that were seized included a large assortment of prohibited weapons, ammunition and suspected stolen items.
Police arrested 14 people including a 41-year-old Footscray woman charged with traffic GHB and possessing a prohibited weapon.
Police are applying to have her remanded at the Dandenong Magistrates’ court later on Tuesday.
