A group of keen-eyed birdwatchers from the Friends of Greenwich Bay conservation group were out and about last month at the Sandy Point Nature Reserve in Newport as part of a regular bird survey session.
The Friends of Greenwich Bay is a group of volunteers who have been working since 1996 to protect and enhance the Newport foreshore, near the mouth of the Yarra River and its surrounding open space.
The group holds regular activity days, including planting and maintenance, bird surveys and litter surveys.
Star Weekly photographer Damjan Janevski attended the bird survey to capture the group’s work.
