Elderly woman spat on, punched after dogs fight

An elderly woman was spat on and punched after two dogs fought in Altona last week.

Police say the woman, 81, was walking her dog in Queen Street on Tuesday, March 9, about 6.20am.

A male who also had a dog with him approached the woman, police said.

The two dogs have fought before being separated without either animal being injured.

Police say the male then spat in the woman’s face and punched her in the shoulder.

Investigators are appealing for public information to identify the male.

He is described as being “tall, thin, dirty, with long blond hair”.

He had been walking in the same direction as the woman with a German Shepherd that was not on a leash.

Anyone with information should call Senior Constable Adam Whitworth at Altona police station on 9392 3111.
