Elves around town

Little elves will be popping up around Hobsons Bay in the lead up to Christmas to help showcase council’s Christmas Gift and Event Guide.

Locals are encouraged to keep their eyes peeled for the elves, which will have a QR that can be scanned to enter to win one of five $100 gift cards to spend at a local business from the gift and event guide.

The guide will showcase all of the events happening in Hobsons Bay, including music in the streets, art to see and heritage sites to engage with.

Mayor Peter Hemphill said the guide also features gift suggestions from local retailers, including homewares, garden items and pets for your furry friends.

“Council has been a big supporter of ‘shopping local, supporting local’ and there’s never been a more important time to get behind our local traders than now. After a tough two years of trade, our local businesses can’t wait to serve you,” he said.

“Hobsons Bay is a great place to shop and dine, with so much variety on offer. As restrictions ease and the weather warms up, our city is the perfect place to start to rebuild and reconnect.”
