EPA and Melbourne Water investigate pollution at Cherry Creek

The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) Victoria were called to investigate reports of pollution at Cherry Creek, Laverton North on March 8.

Crews responded overnight, installing booms to minimise pollution spread and were back on site the following morning to continue cleaning up and investigating.

Melbourne Water has been undertaking clean-up and containment and are working with the EPA who will investigate the cause of the fish kill.

They have advised people to avoid catching or eating any fish caught in Cherry Lake and keep pet animals away from any dead animals found on the banks or near the lake.
