More than 70 exhibitors will take part in a Spotswood expo designed to help young people find work.
The Pathways to Work expo will be held at Grazeland on Friday, July 26 and will aim to connect young people with different pathways to empolyment.
Hobsons Bay mayor Matt Tyler said council is aware of the many challenges young people face today, and finding a job is one of them.
“So we’re bringing together experts in the field to give young people or anyone looking for work the advice and tips they need to take a step closer to finding work,” he said.
“Having steady, secure work is life-changing, and I’m really looking forward to seeing plenty of people at Grazeland making the most of this great opportunity to better their chances of landing a job.”
Exhibitors will include a variety of training and education providers, apprenticeship and trades programs, employment agencies, resume support services, local employers and youth services.
Four panel discussions will take place throughout the day, including from the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation, which will present the ‘breaking down barriers’ panel at 11.30 am and 2 pm.
Select food vendors will be open on the day, and there will be live music.
The expo will run from 10am to 1pm for school groups only and from 1pm to 4pm for the public.
