A man riding a mobility scooter has been killed in a hit-run collision in Yarraville.
It is understood a vehicle collided with the victim’s mobility scooter near the intersection of Francis and Ballarat streets about 11.35am on Wednesday, July 2.
The male rider of the mobility scooter, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and remains on the run.
Francis Street, Yarraville is currently closed to traffic between Hyde Street and Williamstown Road, and motorists are advised to avoid the area this afternoon.
Alternatives include the West Gate Bridge, Napier Street, Buckley Street, Geelong Road, Hopkins Street, Moore Street and Ballarat Road.
Drivers of heavy vehicles are advised to ensure their vehicle is suitable before choosing their alternative route.
