Yarraville will be going to the dogs this Sunday when the village hosts the always- popular Yarraville Festival.

A doggie fashion show will be just a part of a day of fun that awaits all ages as scores of stalls and half a dozen stages of entertainment are scattered through the village.

The festival will kick off at 9am, with treasures and novelties of all descriptions lining the streets.

Musical acts will perform throughout the day. They’ll include Paisley & Plaid, Unsealed Road, The Mercurials and The Stu Thomas Paradox.

The Royal District Nursing Service will provide free health checks at the Bendigo Bank Seddon stall site.

Families can take a time-out in the Kids Kingdom in Fels Reserve off Simpson Street, enjoying a petting zoo, magicians, jumping castles, face painting, interactive theatre and music.

A firm festival favourite, the pet parade, will run on the community stage from 11am.

Volunteers are being sought to assist during the festival.
