Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to a suspicious fire at the old Kinnear’s ropeworks factory in Footscray yesterday afternoon.
Fire crews arrived at the scene on Ballarat Road shortly after 2pm on Sunday, July 13 after callers to Triple Zero (000) reported seeing smoke issuing from a building.
The fire in an abandoned warehouse was approximately 40 metres by 40 metres in size by the time firefighters began attacking it, but was deemed under control by 2.10pm.
No occupants were effected by the blaze.
With the fire deemed suspicious, the scene was then handed over to Victoria Police.
