Firefighters have returned to the site of a former ammunitions factory in Maribyrnong, after wild weather sparked several hot spots.
Crews were called to the Raleigh Road site about 12.45pm following reports of smoke in the area.
The site was the scene of a significant grassfire on New Year’s Day.
Firefighters from Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) and CFA are currently on scene mopping up the hot spots which are believed to have ignited due to high winds.
It’s expected firefighters will remain in the area for some time to ensure the scene is safe.
There is no current risk to the community, FRV said,
