Fitzgerald Road in Laverton is expected to be closed for sometime after a factory fire this morning.
Fire Rescue Victoria crews arrived on the scene in the early hours of this morning, to find a 35-by-35-metre rubbish fire containing metals and debris threatening nearby buildings on site.
Two Telebooms, a Rescue appliance and 10 Pumpers were assisted by several support and specialist vehicles and worked to make the scene safe, with the scene under control at about 3:30am.
There were no injuries reported and the fire was contained to the pile of rubbish.
FRV remains on scene to monitor potential hot spots and investigate the cause of the blaze.
Fitzgerald Road may remain closed for some time and community members should avoid the area if possible.
