Footscray fire believed to be suspicious

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) is investigating the circumstances surrounding a building fire in Footscray in the early hours of Monday, January 23.

FRV said firefighters were called to the incident at the corner of Albert Street and Buckley Street at 3.41am following a number of calls to triple-0.

Firefighters arrived on the scene in six minutes, where the single-story brick and weatherboard commercial property was fully alight.

Nine appliances attended and the fire was brought under control at 3.58am.

FRV said no one was within the structure at the time of the fire.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria also attended the incident.
