Footscray Police Seeking Volunteers for Neighbourhood Watch

Footscray Police are working together with Neighbourhood Watch to establish a Neighbourhood Watch group in Maribyrnong.

Neighbourhood Watch Victoria is a community-led crime prevention organisation that has been running continuously since 1983. They are an independent, not-for-profit organisation which works in partnership with Victoria Police.

Essential to the success of Neighbourhood Watch is the participation of volunteers who work in their local community, the partnership with local police and other local organisations, and the willingness of people to ‘watch out for each other’. Studies show that a combination of watching, reporting suspicious behaviour, communication and target hardening can cut crime by 26% in a community.

If you’re a community-minded person, keen to volunteer, and interested in helping to establish or join a Neighbourhood Watch group in Maribyrnong, please email admin@nhw.com.au for further information.
