Victorian veterans, war widows and current defence force members will have access to free public transport on Remembrance Day, Monday, November 11.
In addition, free travel is extended to school students, Scouts, Guides, Australian Defence Force Cadets, and band members in uniform traveling to commemoration events.
To travel for free, eligible customers simply need to present their DVA gold or white card, category V Victorian public transport concession card, or Veterans Card – Victoria in the Service Victoria app when using public transport.
Alternatively, those wearing uniform, service medals or ex-service association, returned from active service and War Widows badges, will also be able to travel free of charge.
Holders of a Veterans Concession myki, EDA/TPI or War Veterans/War Widow Free Travel Pass can touch on and off as usual.
Myki fares won’t be charged during this period.
Free travel will be available on Melbourne’s trains, trams and buses and also on regional trains, coaches and buses (including regional town buses and inter-town buses).
To plan a journey, download the free PTV app or call 1800 800 007.
