Fugitive arrested following CBD death

Police have arrested a fugitive wanted in relation to the death of a Seddon man earlier this month.

Todd Menegaldo, 33, of no fixed address was arrested by police at a Moonee Ponds boarding house on Tuesday afternoon.

He is now being interviewed by detectives from the Homicide Squad as part of their investigation into the death of a 44-year-old Seddon man following a serious assault in the Melbourne CBD on October 9.

The Seddon man was walking on Elizabeth Street from Flinders Street when he was approached by a man and struck to the head around 6.30pm.

He sustained significant head injuries and was taken to hospital in a critical condition where he died on October 12.
