Fun day for fathers and grandfathers

Altona’s J.K. Grant Reserve was transformed into a flurry of flying colours and footballs, as Altona Early Education Centre children joined with their fathers and grandfathers for the centre’s combined Fight Cancer Foundation Footy Colours Day and Father’s Day celebrations.

Centre director Sarah McAnulty said about 50 fathers and grandfathers played AFL and soccer with the children.

“We had a great turnout,” she said.

The centre surpassed its fundraising goal of $500 for the event via the sale of raffle tickets, with the total fundraising effort at $553 at the time of publication.
