Fans of fun and excitement can chalk up the West Footscray Festival of Colours this Sunday as an event not to be missed.
The festival has cemented itself as a Cultural Diversity Week favourite.
This year’s festival will feature live performances, market and food stalls, a roller disco and activities for all ages, culminating with the iconic throwing of the colours.
West Footscray Neighbourhood House manager Sharee Grinter said the event will be a great day with something for everyone.
“Bringing people together in this way to reclaim the street, share amazing food and enjoy a few laughs with a neighbour is a highlight of the year for us,” she said.
The West Footscray Festival of Colours will be held on Barkly Street from 11am-5pm Sunday, March 25.
Maribyrnong mayor Martin Zakharov said the festival celebrates the diversity and strong community living in West Footscray.
“I encourage everyone to come down and join in the fun for what promises to be an afternoon to remember.”
Cultural Diversity Week will also be celebrated at Victoria University, where the Holi Festival will be held at the Footscray Park Campus from 11.30am until 2pm on Thursday.
The event will feature dancers, drummers, Bollywood workshops, food trucks, and the throwing of the colours.
