Footscray Community Arts Centre [FCAC] co-chief executive Daniel Santangeli is “really excited” to start engaging with other chief executives from Victoria and Tasmania as part of the upcoming Social Impact Leadership Australia [SILA] program.

Delivered by the Centre for Social Impact [CSI] and funded by the Myer Foundation, the Sydney Myer Fund, the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation and the Paul Ramsay Foundation, the program will involve 24 not-for-profit leaders experiencing a series of immersive learning experiences, one-on-one coaching, dedicated capacity-building support and a fully funded three-month sabbatical over the 10-month program.

Mr Santangeli said the program will develop his skills to be able to return with a refreshed perspective to continue FCAC’s growth, especially following recent announcements of the centre being named the official arts partner of the new Footscray hospital and an $8.7 million upgrade to the centre.

“This program will help me gain perspective to deliver both those programs,” he said.

“The program is really designed to give the participants opportunity to grow.”

Mr Santangeli said the program will also involve a FCAC staff member receiving the opportunity to move into the chief executive role during the program.

“That can be a really life-changing opportunity,” he said.
