Veterans health and having a ‘true go’ was the focus of a recent event at the Spotswood Kingsville Returned and Services League [RSL].

As part of Veterans’ Health Week [October 1 to October 9], the RSL sub-branch hosted a ‘Eat Well Play Well’ evening.

Sub-branch vice president Penny Daly said some of the participants took part in Trugo, a unique game mixing in elements of croquet and other games.

“Young and old came together to learn all about gut health from Gorgeous George, who provided an amazing grazing board of all their products and who sent home attendees with a goodie bag of products,” she said.

“We were then entertained by some of our members who are Trugo champions, the game of the inner west.

“Some braved the weather and tried their hand at the game taking on board the ‘true go’ mantra of the sport.”

Veterans, their families and community members from across the inner west, Open Arms and Williamstown MP Melissa Horne attended the event.
