More than 200 Hobsons Bay community members have highlighted the top four community safety concerns as part of a Victoria Police community sentiment survey.
The top four community safety concerns for Hobsons Bay community members were hoon driving, speeding, home burglaries and car break-ins.
Hobsons Bay local area commander Inspector Timothy O’Connor said he was grateful for the high level of responses from the Hobsons Bay community.
“We have instigated the Hobsons Bay Local Safety Committee consisting of police and key community partners which provides broad representation across Hobsons Bay,” he said.
“The committee is reviewing the survey results and identifying what we need to do to keep supporting the community and address those concerns.
“We will continuously review the committee make-up to ensure adequate representation so that we can hear and respond to concerns.”
On a divisional level, the top four concerns for the second division of the north west metropolitan region, which included Hobsons Bay, Wyndham and Maribyrnong, were hoon driving, youth offending, speeding and other antisocial behaviour.
In the third division of the north west metropolitan region, which included Brimbank and Melton, the top four concerns were youth offending, street violence, people affected by drugs or alcohol and home burglaries.
