The historic Victoria Hotel in Yarraville is finally reopening after four months of closure, with new management, a new look and a bright future.

As reported by Star Weekly, the pub was a casualty of COVID, closing its doors on August 8.

First established in 1873, the pub will now be taken over by Australian Venue Co who have given the whole place a face lift, with an updated sports bar and bistro.

The pub has struggled in the past, cycling through different owners who can never seem to make the space work. Australian Venue Co area manager Michael Singleton said he’s confident they’ve got it right.

“I think what we’ve done is just we’ve identified what was the strength of the venue and made it stronger and stronger,” he said.

“We’re pretty stocked with it, I think it’ll really take off and there’s been so much talk in the community. Every other day there’s somebody coming in asking if we’re open already.”

“We’re pretty pumped. We do pubs really well, that’s our game. It’s a lovely old corner historic pub and that’s what we do best.”
