Hobsons Bay celebrates World Environment Day

In celebration of World Environment Day which is celebrated annually on June 5, Hobsons Bay council is offering a range of activities and programs.

Over four days and four locations, commencing on Monday, June 5 ,locals have the chance to try a range of environmentally friendly tasks ending on Thursday, June 8.

Options range from filling up on natural cleaning products, mending damaged clothes, or the chance to watch a documentary with members of your community.

Locals from all around Hobsons Bay will be able to participate with events ranging from Altona North Library, Newport Community Hub, Altona Library and Seabrook Community Centre.

Members of the libraries team have partnered with the envirocentre and the sustainability team to bring the free events to the area.

The groups are collectively excited to help shine a light on World Environment Day 2023, which they say is an important day designed to remind the community that your actions on plastic pollution matter.

World Environment Day encourages awareness and action for the protection of the environment.

The global day is usually supported by many non-governmental organisations, businesses, government entities, and represents the primary United Nations outreach day supporting the environment
