Hobsons Bay is inching closer towards meeting the 90 per cent double vaccinated rate, while Maribyrnong continues to struggle.

As of December 6, 88.6 per cent of residents in Hobsons Bay are fully inoculated.

Although it’s only an increase of 0.6 per cent from last week, it means the municipality is closer to reaching the all important milestone of 90 per cent.

Maribyrnong currently sits on 82.6 per cent double dosed, up by only 0.5 per cent, the lowest increase in three weeks.

As the city continues to struggle towards the 90 per cent mark, Maribyrnong council has called on its younger population to get the jab, after figures show those under 39-years-old are lagging behind.

Council will be holding a number of pop-up hubs in the area this week.

Pop-up clinics will be held at Phoenix Youth Centre, Footscray, for people between the ages of 12-25 on December 9 and December 16 between 3:30pm and 7pm. A clinic at Footscray Train station will be open on December 9, 10, and 16, 17 from 11am to 7pm.

Yarraville Station car park will also be host to a pop-up clinic on December 10 from 11am to 6pm and December 11 from 8am to 2pm
