Hobsons Bay will be filled with colour this summer with a series of free music events and outdoor movies over January and February.
Inspired by Brazilian carnival traditions, Neda Rahmani (pictured) will be performing as part of the All Colour Project, and is among 10 acts performing in the Summer Sounds series.
The free music series kicks off this Saturday at Laverton with Indian drumming group Jana Garjana Dhol Pathak and folk festival favourites Newport Gypsy Djangos.
It culminates on February 17 with an event combining a performance from Westside Freeza Battle of the Bands winner Hollow December and a BMX, skate and scooter competition at Altona Meadows.
This year’s highlights include multiple ARIA award winner The Audreys, and award-winning Indigenous musician Benny Walker.
Movies by the Bay kicks off Friday and runs until February 24, with four films.
