A stellar line-up of homegrown talent will take to the stage in Yarraville as part of the third Stony Creek Music Festival.

From 2-7pm on Thursday, the free Australia Day event will take over McNish Reserve at Cruickshank Park for a day of live music and children’s entertainment, along with community stalls, food trucks and a ‘Welcome to Country’ ceremony.

Rising singer-songwriter Gretta Ray will headline the festival, showcasing the musical talent that helped her win the Triple J Unearthed High radio competition and the Vanda & Young songwriting competition with her song Drive, while still a high school student.

The festival will also include performances by The Yarraville All Stars with Rebecca Barnard, The Mud Cakes, the Pearly Shells Big Band, Bouba and Kids WB magician Magic Tony. Maribyrnong mayor Catherine Cumming says the Stony Creek Music Festival is fast becoming one of the most popular fixtures on the Festival City program.

“This community festival really does have something for everyone and we encourage the community to come down throughout the afternoon and soak up the Australia Day atmosphere.”
