House fire brought under control in Braybrook

Fire Rescue Victoria [FRV] crews attended a house fire at a Darnley Street address in Braybrook on Wednesday, August 31.

A FRV spokesperson said triple-0 call takers received a number of calls and arrived on the scene within four minutes about 11.57pm, finding the rear of a single-storey house alight.

The firefighters on scene escalated the response, donning breathing apparatus and using fire-fighting hose reels to fight the blaze.

All of the house’s occupants evacuated the property safely and crews on site brought the blaze under control by about 12.23am on Thursday, September 1.

A total of five pumpers, one rescue unit, one aerial unit and three other units attended the scene with 30 firefighters on site to respond to the blaze.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria members also attended the incident.

According to FRV, the cause of the blaze is not yet known.
