Identical twins from Altona were among those to receive perfect subject scores when VCE results were released on Monday.,

Only 650 students received the maximum study score of 50, two of which are from Altona’s Mount St. Joseph Girls’ College.

Keira Blizzard and her identical twin sister Shanae Blizzard received the same score of 50 in the same subject, VET Music.

The two were left ‘shocked’ and ‘surprised’ by their results and said they had leaned on each other all year.

“I am really surprised about the results, I tried really hard this year and it paid off, I am really proud of myself,” Keira said.

Shanae added, “I was really stoked when I saw my results, I agree the hard work really paid off.”

The girls studied mostly the same subjects, differing only with Shanae studying Japanese and Keira studying French.

“This year was very busy but we managed to get everything done and enjoy our personal lives at the same time,” Keira said.

Shanae, like her sister, was able to enjoy going to friends’ birthday parties and working at her part time job which she said was a great distraction from the stressful school work.

“I really loved working, it was always a nice break from the schoolwork,” she said.

“I enjoy playing guitar, seeing my friends, musical theatre and everything to do with this subject, they’re all my biggest passions,” said Keira.

The girls grew up in a musical household, Shanae said they grew up singing and dancing around the house since as long as they can remember.

Being passionate about music in their personal lives helped the girls get a perfect score in their favourite subject.

“Signing and playing the piano are my biggest passions so I practised pretty frequently,” Keira said

Shanae added, “it was a nice break from my other content heavy subjects, and I had amazing teachers.”

Keira wants to study a bachelor of science to become a veterinarian, while Shanae would like to study speech pathology.
