Altona’s Pier Street will be transformed for a night as part of the Art and Industry Festival.

“A Night in Altona” will include art installations, live music and the screening of short films about industry in “container cinemas” at Logan Reserve.

The films, made by local filmmakers will provide glimpses inside the O-I Glass factory (formerly ACI) at Spotswood, Link Pumps in Williamstown, Anna Kolusniewski’s costume studio in South Kingsville and Two Birds Brewing in Spotswood.

The historic Altona Homestead will open its doors for an exhibition about industry.

At dusk, a large-scale photographic installation by artist Zoya Martin, titled

Night Shift, will begin to glow.

The Art and Industry Festival, running until November 25, celebrates the western suburbs’ industrial heritage.

A Night in Altona will be at Logan Reserve, Pier Street, and surrounds on Saturday, November 24 from 6-10pm.
