A fundraising idea at a Maidstone kindergarten suits creative youngsters to a T.

Children at Dobson Kindergarten in Maidstone have created their very own artwork designs that have been screen printed onto cotton tea towels.

The Mother’s Day fundraiser features individual handprints and drawings by children and staff at the kindergarten.

Kindergarten spokeswoman Nicolle Turner said the tea towels made great Mother’s Day gifts for mums, grandparents or carers.

“We invite all our children to do a drawing; it’s a lovely way for parents to contribute but also have a keepsake,” she said.

“For the children it’s something they can have at home and be proud they contributed to.”

All the money raised through the purchase of the tea towels will go towards toys and equipment for the kindergarten.

Last year’s fundraiser raised about $1000 and this year’s target is $1500.

Orders, which start at $15, must be placed by April 15. Details: 8199 6336 or dobson.kin@kindergarten.vic.gov.au
