Kingsville man seriously injured during aggravated burglary

A man has been taken to hospital with serious head injuries following an aggravated burglary in Kingsville early Wednesday morning.

Police are searching for a man who gained entry to a Chirnside Street residence about 6.30am and assaulted the male occupant with a weapon.

He sustained a serious head injury and was taken to hospital for treatment.

A woman at the scene was also taken to hospital with injuries. 

The offender fled the scene on foot and remains at large.

Investigations  into the incident remain ongoing, however police believe the parties are known to each other.
