Kmart Footscray still closed

More than a week after it sustained water damage from a burst pipe, Kmart Footscray remains closed and its re-opening date unknown.

Kmart is urging its inner west customers to shop at its Highpoint, Altona and Moonee Ponds locations while work continues on repairing its Footscray store which was flooded when the pipe burst on Wednesday, August 27.

“We are working as quickly as we can to reopen the store for our customers and will advise a reopening date as soon as we can,” said a spokesperson for the retailer.

Kmart Footscray is situated below ground at the Footscray Plaza shopping centre on the corner of Paisley and Albert streets.

Other tenants located above such as Coles, Liquorland and Priceline on the ground floor, Anytime Fitness and Uniting on the mezzanine level and carparks and residential apartments located on upper levels, are understood to not be affected.
