All outbound lanes of Napier Street in Footscray are closed between Hyde Street and Nicholson Street after another truck struck the rail bridge about 1pm on Friday.

Trains on the Werribee and Williamstown lines have been delayed by up to 20 minutes, with services stopped in the area.

Passengers are asked to check station platform displays and listen for announcements, and to allow additional time for their journey.

Drivers are advised to use either Hopkins Street or Somerville Road to avoid the closure.

The incident is under Victoria Police control and all outbound lanes will reopen when the road is clear.

Signals teams are monitoring conditions and adjusting traffic lights as needed to minimise congestion on surrounding roads.
