A Maidstone man has had his licence immediately suspended after allegedly driving at more than five times the legal blood-alcohol limit on Tuesday night.
Officers from Footscray observed a white Toyota van travelling along Jackson Street about 7.30pm on October 15.
It is believed the van had been involved in a collision before police located it.
After pulling over, the driver of the van was given a preliminary breath test by police and then taken to the station.
At the station, the 62-year-old man recorded an alleged blood-alcohol level of .257.
His licence was immediately suspended and he is expected to be charged on summons for traffic offences.
