Police have arrested a man following the 2007 murder of Cindy Crossthwaite in Melton South.
The 41-year-old mother of three was found dead by her father in her Andrew Street home just after 4pm on June 20, 2007.
Police arrested a 55-year-old Footscray man at a business address in Tottenham about 8am this morning.
He was subsequently interviewed by detectives and charged with one count of murder. He will face the Melbourne Magistrates Court this morning.
In 2017, police announced a $1 million reward for information in relation to Ms Crossthwaite’s death and that reward remains on offer.
A reward of up to $1 million will be paid at the discretion of the Chief Commissioner of Police for information leading to the apprehension and subsequent conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder.
Any payment of a reward will be subject to the applicant signing a deed of confidentiality prior to payment.
