Man dies at Spotswood, buses replace trains

A man has died after being hit by a train at Spotswood on Monday about 9.15am.

Buses are replacing trains on the Werribee  and Williamstown lines.

Buses will replace trains between Footscray and Newport/Williamstown.

Trains will run from Flinders Street to Footscray and from Newport to Werribee.

Updates are being provided by Metro.

Twitter user Lee Alexander posted that the outbound train was stopped as it pulled into Spotswood, with emergency services looking under a carriage.

Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious.
