Millions access savings tool

The state government’s Savings Finder tool has been used more than 2.6 million times, helping Victorians access discounts, savings and unclaimed money.

The Department of Government Services’ tool offers Victorians 98 quick and simple way to access savings, discounts and cost-of-living relief.

Accessed through the Service Victoria app or website, Savings Finder links Victorians to government websites, discounts, and rebates across housing, transport, health, energy and leisure.

More than 2.6 million people have visited Savings Finder since its launch in August 2022, helping thousands of families to access unclaimed money and find new ways to save with everyday discounts.

Victorians can answer a few simple questions about their age, living situation and interests to find out which of the 98 current available savings they are eligible for across energy, utilities, health, education, transport, recreation and leisure.

Recommendations for savings are tailored to individual circumstances but could include free transport for kids under the age of 18, free weekend transport for seniors and a $100 power savings bonus for eligible concession holders.

One of the services includes the ability to search for unclaimed money Victorians may be entitled to through the State Revenue Office, with more than $200 million waiting to be claimed.

Further discounts include free dental for Victorian public-school students, free zoo visits for children under the age of 16, free fishing licences for veterans and seniors, and new veteran and senior digital concession cards.
